Lymphatic Drainage Massage or sometimes referred as MLD (manual lymph drainage) is a specialized approach that focuses on the lymphatic system. This massage consists of very light touch that encourages lymph flow in the body. This type of massage aims to help the body maintain proper blood circulation, body fluid balance, immune functions, and absorb nutritional fatty acid. Lymphatic Drainage Massage is great for edema/swelling reduction, detoxification and overall well-being, and much more!

What does the lymphatic system do? The lymphatic system transports fluid (lymph) from the interstitium back into the systemic circulation, thus preventing fluid accumulation in the tissue.

What happens during a lymphatic drainage massage? The MLD trained massage therapist will follow a particular sequence, using a series of massage techniques that include stretching, compression, gliding, and cupping motions. Light rhythmic movements stimulate the lymphatic system, making they lymph fluid to move easily through the nodes and tissues. Common areas that are worked during the massage: the neck, upper chest, arms, hands/fingers, abdominal region, legs, and feet.

Some conditions that MLD can treat:
